Double Denim Party

Double Denim Party Theme Ideas

Your double denim party dreams will all come true when your guests start

arriving on your doorstep on the night of your Denim on Denim party.

Invitations:

Simple yet clever ideas for this party theme are numerous.  Visit your local Vinnies

or Salvo shops and buy several pair of jeans. Cut into squares and pin to

one side of each jean square your invitation. You may like to write straight

on to the squares with a permanent marker ( this works better on lighter

coloured jeans ).

Make denim “napkin rings” or similar sized rings by cutting strips of denim and gluing or sewing the ends together. Print out your invitations on to A4 paper, rollup and insert into denim rings that you have made from the Jeans you bought and cut up.

Decorations:

Feeling crafty then why not sew together the remaining denim jeans to make a wall hanging or a table cloth?

Mix your blues with various shades of blue coloured balloons, streamers and tableware to give a true-blue double denim party feel. You may consider hanging posters of different celebrities wearing jeans and have your guest’s guess who they are.

Food:

If you are right into the whole “Blue” theme and would like to add some blue to your menu try to pick out all the blue M&Ms and serve in small bowls. Select dishes that contain Blueberries and Blackberries. Blue jelly desserts are always a big hit with your party guests and look great. Pastas can be turned blue by adding blue food colouring to the water as they are cooking.

The “No Blue” Game

What you’ll need:

  • One denim or beaded necklace for each guest
  • A prize for the winner (optional)

At the start of the party, everyone gets a hand crafted denim or bead necklace. Each guest spends the rest of the party trying to win more necklaces by getting other party guests to say the word “no or blue”, therefore players must remember to avoid directly saying the word “no or blue” – if they get caught, they have to give up their necklace to the person who tricked them into saying it. Players who have lost their necklaces can continue to play and try to earn one off another player. At the end of a set time or night, the player with the most necklaces is the winner.

The Peg Game

What you’ll need:

  • Plastic pegs
  • Your favorite adult beverage/shot

This game can be played throughout the party, even while other games are in progress! All you really need is a couple lightweight pegs (plastic is recommended) and some drinks or prepared shots. One person (the peg placer) gets a peg with the goal of secretly pegging it to someone else without them noticing. The peg placer then steps away and counts to 6 out loud as each of the players frantically searches to see whether they’ve been pegged. If the pegged player finds the peg before the count to 6 is complete, the peg placer must drink. If the pegged player can’t find the peg before the count is over, he or she must drink. Then the pegged player becomes the peg placer and the game continues
